Why is Reporting on Resource Optimization for Nutanix Important?

Initial configurations have to be adjusted often and tuned to dynamic business requirements and user growth rates. Some applications may require more resources, while some resources are underutilized and can be used elsewhere.

It first analyzes virtual machines' (VM) usage of the allocated resources (CPU, memory) through a define period of time. In certain cases it is more applicable to analyze resource utilization during business hours. Based on the analysis, the report identifies virtual machines with excessive resources and VMs requiring more resources. The report then lists such oversized and undersized VMs together with a recommendation for optimal resource allocation. Freeing redundant resources makes them available for use by other virtual machines and can be used to improve performance of undersized virtual machines.
